As you consider the value of a Catholic education at Our Lady of the Mountains School, consider the following points of emphasis :

The goal of the Catholic education provided at OLM is to help children mature into Christ-like people.  Students are encouraged to recognize the human dignity and presence of God in themselves and others.  Above all else, OLM strives to be a “Christ-centered zone”.  Reverence for all people is emphasized in every aspect of school life.

Catholic schools like OLM have a very clear goal for their students.  The vast majority of Catholic school elementary and secondary students advance to college (94%).  Classroom and homework assignments are designed to challenge students and facilitate academic success at OLM and beyond.  100% of our student score at, or above, their anticipated level on standardized tests.

The emphasis on external discipline is designed to teach internal, self-discipline.  The rules established at OLM foster growth in accepting responsibility, respecting others, and making good decisions.  Our teachers provide this discipline in a loving, nurturing environment.

Every student at OLM is expected to achieve.  This is communicated clearly to our students, who then have the opportunity to internalize this value.  Small class size and individualized attention by caring, competent teachers allow our high expectations to be met by all students from diverse socio-economical backgrounds and educational abilities.

At OLM, parents take an active role in the education of their children.  Our school supports families and works with parents for the benefit of their children.  Each year, parents contribute hundreds of volunteer hours to our school, demonstrating their commitment to Catholic education.
